Do I need Pro to use Cap Artist?
No. The Free tier gives you the full local demo experience — the proxy engine, click-to-edit rule builder, JSON mutations, HTML transforms, and unlimited local rulesets. Pro adds AI-powered rule generation and cloud sync. Start free and upgrade when you need it.
What AI providers does Cap Artist support?
Free and Pro users can bring their own API key for OpenAI (GPT-4o), Anthropic (Claude), or Google Gemini. Pro users also get access to cloud LLM — no API key needed, credits are included.
What is AI self-healing and how does it work?
When you turn on self-healing for a demo, Cap Artist captures a rich baseline for every targeted element — selector candidates, role, accessible name, position, and a full-page screenshot. Every time a viewer session starts, Cap Artist runs the demo headlessly first, detects elements that have drifted (moved, renamed, restyled), and asks Claude to re-find them using the stored baseline. High-confidence fixes auto-apply and persist for every future run. You get an email summary when anything changes or breaks. Available on Team.
Does self-healing run on real customer accounts?
No. Cap Artist demos are built to run on data faked by your ruleset's proxy rules — the page sees synthetic values, not real PII. Background validation always runs through that same rule-applying proxy session, so captured screenshots and DOM already reflect faked data. You can also purge all healing assets for any demo at any time from the demo settings panel.
Does Cap Artist work with any website?
Yes. Cap Artist works as a system-level proxy, so it intercepts traffic from any browser and any web app — your product, a competitor's tool, a partner integration, anything. It includes a TLS bypass list for cert-pinned services (Apple, Sentry, etc.) that can't be intercepted.
Is Cap Artist open source?
Yes. The proxy engine and desktop app are open source under the AGPL v3 license and available on GitHub. The cloud backend (sync, teams, billing) is the paid component.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancel from your billing portal and your subscription ends at the next billing cycle. Your local rulesets are always yours — they live on your machine and don't disappear if you downgrade.
